Canon Wins Permanent Injunction Banning Provantage from Selling Toner Cartridges in U.S.
Canon Inc. of Japan reports that it’s concluded a patent-infringement lawsuit against Provantage, LLC in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. The lawsuit involved toner cartridges and photosensitive drum units sold for use in Canon and Hewlett-Packard laser printers.
To resolve the lawsuit, Provantage has stipulated to a Consent Judgment and Permanent Injunction from the Southern District of New York, which prohibits Provantage from making, using, selling and offering for sale in the United States, and from importing into the United States, the toner cartridges and photosensitive drum units that Canon accused it of infringing its U.S. Patent Nos. 8,135,304, 8,280,278, 8,369,744, 8,532,533, 8,565,640, and 8,630,564.
