Electronics for Imaging (EFI), reports that it’s acquired Lector Computersysteme GmbH, a print-management information system (MIS) developer based in Mönchengladbach, Germany.

Lector is a provider of German-language MIS software; EFI says the acquisition will strengthen its MIS position in Europe.

While financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, the acquisition is not expected to be material to EFI’s fourth quarter or full-year 2013 results. Lector’s employees have joined EFI and will report to Sean Whelan, director of EMEA-region operations in EFI’s Productivity Software business.

“Germany has always been one of the world’s largest printing industry markets, so we are pleased to have Lector Computersysteme join EFI,” commented Marc Olin, EFI’s interim CFO and senior vice president and general manager of the company’s Productivity Software business.

“EFI continues to prove it is a world-class provider when it comes to helping printing companies improve their management operations and grow profitably,” said Frank Mertzbach, founder and former owner of Lector. “We are excited to give our customers access to technology from the world’s leading developer of print MIS software.”
