Epson, Canon Providing Philippines Typhoon Support
Seiko Epson and Canon Inc. have both pledged donations to support victims of Typhoon Haiyan, which struck central areas of the Philippines, including the islands of Leyte and Samar in the Visayas region. Both companies extended sympathy to victims and their families.
Epson Precision (Philippines), Epson Philippines Corporation, and Seiko Epson Corporation have donated Php 2 million (approx. US $46,000) to assist in disaster-relief efforts. The money was donated through Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), a local NPO. Epson says it will consider extending further support when the full effects of the typhoon are known.
The Canon Group is aiding in the relief efforts for victims of the typhoon with a donation totaling 10 million yen (approximately U.S. $102,000). The company is currently considering to which humanitarian -organization the donation will be made.
