Sharp Debuts Next-Generation MFP Line with ‘Advanced’ and ‘Essentials’ Configurations
The new Advanced Series (MX-M365N, MX-M465N. and MX-565N) incorporate Sharp’s newest technology and are designed for customers with demanding workflows, and are rated print at 36-, 46-, and 56-ppm. They feature Sharp’s 10″ table-style touch-screen (below), as well as integrated retractable keyboard, wireless networking, true Adobe PostScript 3 print driver, and optional high-capacity paper handling and document finishing. The Advanced Series also provides access to Sharp Cloud Portal Office, Sharp’s new cloud-based document storage and sharing service that’s accessed via mobile devices, desktop PCs, compatible Sharp OSA-enabled MFPs, and Sharp Aquos Board Interactive Display Systems.
The Advanced Series MFPs feature built-in wireless networking, as well as support for the free Sharpdesk Mobile app, the latter of which provides printing and scanning from mobile devices, designed, for instance, for use by guest users, as they won’t have to access the company’s corporate network in order to print and scan – the “Point-to-Point” mode establishes a direct wireless connection to mobile devices, which is isolated from the enterprise’s wired LAN.
For security, there’s Sharp’s standard End-of-Lease feature, under which all document and user data recorded by the MFP is erased when the MFP is traded in at the end of its lease.
The Essentials Series (MX-M364N, MX-M464N and MX-M564N) are designed for cost-conscious customers and provide features common to competitive models in this class. The Essentials Series provide full MFP capability (copy, network print, and scan) at rated print speeds of 36-,46- and 56-ppm.
The new MX-M365N, MX-M465N and MX-565N Advanced Series and the MX-M364N, MX-M464N and MX-M564N Essentials Series will be available for purchase in the first quarter of 2014 via authorized Sharp dealers and direct sales.
“This new family of monochrome MFP products has been designed to support today’s busy office environments, offering high productivity, powerful multitasking, off-premises cloud support and more,” commented Mike Marusic, senior vice president for Sharp’s Marketing and Business Solutions Group. “Offering both an Advanced Series and an Essentials Series allows Sharp Dealers greater flexibility in balancing their customer’s business needs within their budget requirements.”
