Sales and Net Income up for OKI Japan’s First Half of Fiscal Year

OKI Electric Industry of Japan announced results for the first half of its fiscal year, with both sales and net income up. Sales were 204 billion yen, up 5.4 percent from the 193.6 billion yen for the fiscal half a year ago, while net income was 1.8 billion yen, a sharp improvement from the loss of 6.7 billion yen reported for the fiscal half a year ago.

OKI reports that operating income for printers “improved drastically.” Net sales were 57.3 billion yen for the half, compared to 53.8 billion year for the same half a year ago.

For the full year, OKI is projecting net income of 15 billion yen, up from the 13.6 billion year in net income reported for the previous fiscal year. Sales of color LED printers were up 34.5 billion yen, versus 31.0 billion yen for the same half a year ago.
