Hands-On Preview and Photo Gallery: Lexmark MS812de 70-ppm A4 Workgroup Printer

The Lexmark MS812de as tested.

We’ve spent the last few days installing and testing Lexmark’s MS812de powerhouse B/W laser printer for workgroups ($1,949), and all we can say is that IT IS FAST! Not only 70-ppm fast but Lexmark claims its powerful dual core processor enabled it to produce most prints in under four seconds (under seven seconds in our tests using the GDI print driver which is considerably faster than tested competitive units).

It has a beautiful and responsive 8″ touch screen that has audio and tactile feedback and can be highly customized and upgraded with downloadable Lexmark Solutions. It can also be upgraded with a host of I/O options such as; 802.11b/g/n USB WiFi networking (only $99); I/O port, firmware and memory cards; hard drive; multiple and high-capacity media trays (up to 4,400 sheets total); output tray extenders; mailboxes; and a stapler finisher.

The touch screen can also be remotely viewed and operated from a computer workstation.

The MS812de is part of Lexmark’s newly designed MPF/SFP series that were launched in October 2012 and incorporate a host of hardware improvements such as new Unison toner and imaging system, media feeding enhancements, and automatic ejection of misfeeds.

Finally, the Embedded Web Server has been standardized across the entire line and all we can say is that it provides world-class security and network-management capabilities.

You want security? You got it!

We hope that you enjoy the gallery of photos taken during our Hands-On Test procedure.
