Kyocera Adds DMS Link 4.0, SharePoint Connector 4.0
Kyocera Document Solutions America has added two document workflow solutions for its HyPAS-enabled MFPs, DMS Link 4.0 for document capture and distribution, and its SharePoint Connector 4.0 for document management.
DMS Link is a Kyocera-developed application that links network-connected and HyPAS-enabled Kyocera MFPs to existing document-management systems. At the MFP’s touch screen, users can enter business-specific data (indexing) for scanned documents, which can then be automatically routed to a designated document repository. From a network PC workstation, indexed files such as purchase orders, invoices, contracts, etc. are easily searchable from a central database.
With Kyocera’s SharePoint Connector, users can access documents stored in a SharePoint server directly from the Kyocera MFP’s control panel and touch screen. On the touch screen, users can browse SharePoint Document Libraries, create new folders, and scan-to and print directly from SharePoint. Kyocera’s new SharePoint Connector supports SharePoint 2007 and 2010, as well SharePoint Online.
New features for DMS Link 4.0 and SharePoint Connector 4.0 include the following, and are designed for enterprise environments as well as vertical markets such as the healthcare, finance, education and legal sectors:
- Optional optical character recognition, powered by OmniPage OCR software, to create editable documents such as Microsoft Word and Excel files, as well as PDF, HTML and other file formats.
- Standard e-mail routing, Customized Icons and improved graphical user interface (GUI). DMS Link also provides a simple to use Wizard for setting and configuring business workflows.
- The ability to scan, retrieve, print and index documents at the MFP using an existing SharePoint folder structure.
- Enterprise-wide access to information with support for multiple SharePoint servers.
