Video – HP Officejet Pro 8100 ePrinter Unboxing and Setup
HP’s newly redesigned Officejet Pro 8100 ePrinter performed better than its predecessor in virtually every aspect of testing and then some. It adds a color display and ePrint mobile printing, and is also quieter and sturdier. There are also new network management capabilities that make it the first Officejet Pro printer (and quite possibly the only thermal ink-jet printer) truly suitable for use in any home, small office, company or enterprise.
As seen in the video, unpacking and setup of the Officejet Pro 8100 ePrinter was easy. The new inking system is a snap to maintain and prints showed no adverse effects when subjected to a highlighter pen and water in the tests. Since the new ink dries faster, there’s also a marked improvement in duplex printing productivity over its predecessor.
HP has told us that, because of security fears, many government agencies will not purchase anything with a scanner or use WiFi networking. That is the reasoning behind the Officejet 8000 Enterprise printer. With the Officejet 8100 ePrinter, WiFi and ePrint mobile printing can be disabled to address these concerns. On the other hand, these features make it more attractive to a wider range of users than the Officejet 8000 Enterprise.
