Konica Minolta Acquires SMB IT Services Firm

Konica Minolta All Covered LogoKonica Minolta Business Solutions (KMBS) has acquired All Covered, Inc., a nationwide provider of managed IT Services for the small- and medium-size business market.  All Covered, which will become a subsidiary of KMBS, provides server management, remote monitoring, cloud computing, and on-site network support and consulting via their 22 offices across the United States.

The All Covered acquisition—KMBS hasn’t released the cost of the acquisition—will build upon Konica Minolta’s current managed IT Services offerings.  Customers will be able to use a single source for a broad range of products and services, from Konica Minolta’s MFP and printers—including the company’s newest A4 offering—to workflow solutions and print services and managed IT services.

“Konica Minolta’s acquisition of All-Covered is a win-win for all parties involved, especially customers and end users,” notes Wirth Consulting’s Terry Wirth.  “In the old scenario, a customer may require both Konica  Minolta and an IT supplier in order to provide critical, total network services.  This means that any solutions-development had to be coordinated between three entities.  In the new All-Covered scenario, solutions-development need only be coordinated between two entities, significantly streamlining the process.”

According to KMBS Senior Executive Vice President and COO Rick Taylor, “Konica Minolta’s acquisition of All Covered will further enhance our ability to deliver sophisticated solutions to our customer base and accelerate the expansion of our IT services business.  By integrating the scalable business model of All Covered with our extensive sales and service footprint, we intend to deliver unmatched value to our end users and channel partners.”

“As the printing and imaging industry continues the transformation toward a more services-lead model, it is imperative for market players to integrate more IT-related services as part of a comprehensive product/services package”, Keith Kmetz, Vice President of IDC Hardcopy Solutions Programs commented.  “Konica Minolta’s forward-thinking move to acquire All Covered gives the company instant legitimacy in providing customers with a wide range of the necessary IT services/support offerings, along with an already well-established roster of printing and imaging solutions. The combination puts Konica Minolta in a solid position to capitalize on this market’s transformation.”
