The new color All-in-Ones, which have a maximum monthly duty cycle of 3,000 pages, are compatible with Microsoft Windows (including Windows 7) and Apple Macintosh (including OS X Snow Leopard).  Using media with the ColorLok logo will enable users to produce fast-drying documents that resist fading.  HP is also making high-yield 901XL ink cartridges available; a 901XL black ink cartridge yields 700 pages, one of the highest yields among competitive ink-jet systems. The system also uses a tri-chamber 901 color cartridge rated to yield 360 pages.

Other specifications are as follows:

  • Color scan is 48-bit, and optical scan resolution is up to 1,200 dpi.

  • Color copying is via either the flatbed platen or 20-sheet automatic document feeder.  Copier features include:  up to 90 copies,

25 to 400% reduction/enlargement, and fit to page.

  • The systems are equipped with a 100-sheet paper-input tray for paper up to 8.5"x14", but can accept custom media sizes from 3"x4" up to 8.5"x30".  The 8.5"x30" capability will be useful for printing signs, banners, etc.  Maximum media weight is 110 lb. index stock, and the system can print on 4"x6" photo stock up to 145 lb.  Duplexing is manual.

Creative Studio for Business Expanded

HP also announced that it's expanded its Creative Studio for Business, which was originally only available to U.S. customers, so that customers in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore and the United Kingdom can now use these resources.  Creative Studio for Business is an HP Web site that provides marketing help for small businesses, including free templates for creating marketing materials (such as business cards and brochures), help with creating a company logo and unifed marketing materials, etc.  With the expansion, templates will now be available in local languages.  HP says it will continue to expand Creative Studio for Business, and the expansion will eventually include countries in Asia and Latin America.
