New Konica Minolta Mid-Range Color MFPs Start At $26,695
March 4, 2010 - Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. is launching its newest color MFPs for mid-size to large workgroups, and light production, the bizhub C652DS and C552DS, which start at $26,695, and add a 156-opm (duplex) dual scanner for automatically scanning both sides of a two-sided original in a single pass. An optional EFI Fiery controller is available for both systems, and Konica Minolta is also making available a new Scan Accelerator Kit for optimum performance when integrated with third-party document management solutions.
The systems incorporate network color print, color copy, and color scan (optional fax), and use Konica Minolta's proprietary Simitri HD Color Polymerized Toner. The firm rates the bizhub C652DS at 65 (black)/50 (color) ppm and the C552DS at 55 (black)/45 (color) ppm. List pricing is $32,950 and $26,695 respectively.
Both systems are based on Konica Minolta's Emperon Print System; the bizhub C652DS has a maximum monthly volume of 250,000 pages, while the bizhub C552DS has a maximum monthly volume of 200,000 pages.
Common specifications for both are as follows:
1 GHz CPU; 2-GB memory hard drive; 250 GB memory (shared copier/hard drive); PCL 5e/c, PCL 6 and PostScript 3 emulation print drivers; 10Base-T/100Base-TX/1000 Base-T network interfaces, and USB 1.1 and 2.0 ports. Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh compatible. The systems incorporate Konica Minolta's bizhub Extended Solution Technology (bEST) open development platform for integrating third-party applications. Maximum media size is 12"x18", and maximum media weight is 100 lb. cover and 140 lb. index. Standard paper capacity is 3,650 sheets; maximum is 6,650 sheets. Two optional document finishers provide 100- or 50-sheet stapling, 80- or 60-page booklet-making; 2/3-hole document punching, Z-folding, and post insertion. Users may scan to multiple destinations in a single procedure, and may scan to e-mail, WebDAV, FTP, SMB, Me, USB, and Home.
