Canon Celebrates 20th Anniversary of Document Scanning with Commemorative-Edition imageFORMULA Scanners

Canon imageFORMULA DR-C225 office document scanner.

Designed to mark the 20th anniversary of its first digital document scanner introduced in 1997, Canon U.S.A. continues to expand its document-scanner family, today introducing two limited-edition anniversary models: the imageFORMULA P-215II “Scan-tini” mobile document scanner ($299 MSRP) and imageFORMULA DR-C225 office document scanner ($449 MSRP), both featuring a vibrant, bright orange color accent that’s said to be inspired by the Tokyo Tower in Japan, the home of Canon U.S.A.’s parent company, Canon Inc.

“In 1997, Canon launched its first digital document scanner, the DR-3020, leveraging our micrographics equipment technology,” commented Toyotsugu Kuwamura, executive vice president and general manager of Canon U.S.A.’s Business Imaging Solutions Group. “Since then, we have continued to expand our line, introducing the imageFORMULA scanner brand in 2007.”
