Ricoh USA Suing Former Employee for Misappropriation of Trade Secrets
On June 14th in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Ricoh USA filed a lawsuit against a former employee, Brandy Anderton, alleging that Anderton misappropriated Ricoh trade secrets during her employment at Ricoh USA. Ricoh USA accused Anderton of breach of contract and unfair competition.
According to the complaint, Ricoh USA Inc. says it sustained damages to its business as the result of its trade secrets being stolen. The plaintiff holds Anderton responsible because the defendant allegedly breached her contractual agreement with Ricoh by failing to return confidential information when she left the company.
Ricoh USA is requesting a trial by jury and seeks injunctive relief, an admonishment of the defendant, compensatory damages, exemplary and/or punitive damages, treble damages, court costs, and any further relief the court grants.
