    $302 divided by 3,000 equals $0.10 NOT $0.01.

The ink cost for a black ISO test page with 5-percent area coverage is indeed $0.01, which is determined by dividing the cost of the black ink cartridge ($29.99) by the black ink-cartridge’s page yield (3,000 pages).

What you appear to be referring to is the depreciated purchase price of the printer ($302) at a monthly print volume of 50 pages per month, that is 3,000 pages divided by 60 months.

Depreciation is a key component of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and is added to the cost of the ink and other supply items consumed over a five-year period.
