OKI Sets Up New Wide-Format Printer Company with Acquisition of Seiko I Infotech’s Printer Business
Signaling its drive to expand into the wide-format printer market, OKI Data Corporation of Tokyo today reported that it’s completed the acquisition of Seiko I Infotech’s wide-format printer business. Seiko I Infotech is a subsidiary of Seiko Instruments; OKI completed the acquisition by acquiring all Seiko I Infotech outstanding shares from Seiko Instruments. With the acquisition completed, OKI is now setting up a new company, OKI Data Infotech Corporation , that began operating as a member of the OKI Group on October 1st.
Also on October 1st, OKI Data Corporation’s overseas subsidiaries in Europe and the United States completed the acquisition of Seiko I Infotech’s European and U.S. groups respective companies wide-format printer business and assets.
OKI Data Infotech will assume responsibility for all services and products in the wide-format printer business currently provided by Seiko I Infotech’s European and U.S. group companies.
OKI Data Corporation says it “positions the high-value-added printer business as its major growth area with the professional printer market being an important sector.”

By offering one-stop printing solutions targeting the printing, distribution, and retail industry sectors, we will strengthen our printer business in the professional printer market.”
The new OKI Data Infotech Corporation is represented by Junichiro AzumaAddress, and is located at 8, Nakase 1-chome, Mihama-ku, Chiba, Chiba Prefecture, in Japan. It currently has 236 employees, with capital of 1 billion yen.
