PrinterOn’s Enterprise, Express Mobile-Print Solutions Now Available On Premise or via Cloud Deployment

PrinterOnDeveloper of enterprise mobile-printing solutions PrinterOn reports that it’s released PrinterOn Enterprise and Express Edition 3.1, which it says provide secure enterprise mobile printing for large corporations and mid-size businesses. PrinterOn – which was purchased by Samsung in September 2014 and is now a subsidiary of Samsung – says this release enables businesses to choose between an On Premise or Hybrid Cloud deployment. Other major features of 3.1 include a new Mobile Web App, and new advanced functionality in the Enterprise Edition that supports mobile-device management platforms, as well as expanded print-job reporting.

Both the On Premise and Hybrid Cloud modes run on servers inside the network and don’t allow documents to leave it. Organizations that forbid Internet connectivity will find the On Premise deployment mode fits their needs, while the Hybrid Cloud deployment option delivers added benefits that include centralized printer setup, printer-management and print-job reporting, automatic print-driver distribution, and centralized encryption key exchange using an SSL-based outbound cloud connection to the PrinterOn directory service.

“With the new deployment mode options and other major features of 3.1, PrinterOn significantly increases its advantage of providing anytime, anywhere secure mobile printing no matter the workflow, mobile device, printer, or the networks in between,” commented PrinterOn CEO Angus Cunningham. “This 3.1 release supports the continued significant investment in our offering and enables our solutions to meet the broadest set of requirements in the market for both basic and advanced deployments.”

The new Mobile Web App enables secure mobile printing from any Web-browser-based device, including BlackBerry, Microsoft Windows Phone, and Surface tablets. PrinterOn says the Mobile Web App provides a responsive and easy-to-use interface, and brings secure mobile printing to virtually any device, whether it’s a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer.

PrinterOn’s secure mobile-printing apps for Apple iOS and Android now provide stronger integration with Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions from AirWatch, Good Technology, and MobileIron. PrinterOn Enterprise now also features Advanced MDM Integration, including remote configuration of large mobile-device populations, as well as MDM gateway-integration using AirWatch MAG, Good Proxy Server, and MobileIron Sentry.

For those organizations wanting to better track and analyze print costs, 3.1 offers expanded print-job reporting and analytics. The Express Edition has improved basic print-job reporting, while Enterprise Edition gets advanced reporting and an analytics capability, giving administrators the ability to report on key metrics such as frequent users, most used printers, department or group reports, and duplex-printing tracking.
