New Canon PRINT Business App for iOS and Android Mobile Print and Scan

Canon Print Business AppCanon U.S.A.  yesterday announced an integration of its business mobile-print and scan applications with its new Canon PRINT Business app, a free download, for compatible business-class laser MFPs and printers  in Canon’s imageCLASS, imageRUNNER, and imageRUNNER ADVANCE MFP families.

The Canon PRINT Business application combines the current Canon Mobile Printing and Canon Mobile Scanning for Business applications into one product. Canon says the app is ideal for business users that need to print documents, presentations, Web pages, and images wirelessly from their compatible Apple iPhone or iPad mobile devices running iOS 7 – iOS 8, or with Android smartphones and tablets running OS 4 – OS 5. Users can also use the app to scan files to their mobile devices.

The Canon PRINT Business application retains all of the features of the Canon Mobile Printing and Canon Mobile Scanning for Business applications, including an easy-to-use interface, customizable settings, scan- and print-preview screens, secure printing, and a data-conversion service, the last of which is to help correct the layout and format of compatible Microsoft Office files,

New capabilities introduced with Canon PRINT Business include:

  • Near Field Communication (NFC) support for compatible NFC-supported Android smartphones or tablets for easy wireless connectivity. By simply touching a compatible Android device to the printer, users can print various documents from their Android mobile device.
  • iCloud integration, which enables users to access their iCloud files directly from the Canon PRINT Business Application on iPhones and iPads running iOS 8 or later. This new cloud support is in addition to existing support for DropBox and Google Drive.
  • Keystone correction, a function that allows the user to adjust the dimensions of an image so that it fits correctly into a shape for attractive output.

The Canon PRINT Business application also collaborates with the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY application used to manage Canon inkjet printers. Users will be instructed to go the App Store or Google Play to download the correct application for their individual products, or will be automatically transferred to the other application if it’s already installed.

Both the Canon PRINT Business application and Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY application are now available for free download at the Apple App Store and at Google Play. Canon recommends that current users of the Canon Mobile Printing and Canon Mobile Scanning for Business applications download and transition use to the new Canon PRINT Business application in order to take advantage of the newly available features and to receive updates in the future.
