Canon U.S.A. today launched its next-generation color inkjet PIXMA All-in-Ones for home use: the PIXMA MG7720 series, PIXMA MG6800 series, and MG5700 series, all of which feature wireless connectivity and are designed high-quality photo and document printing. Canon says the new models can connect to wireless networks easier than in the past for quick printing from the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY application with compatible mobile and tablet devices (requires an Internet connection and the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app available for free at the App Store and Google Play). The new models provide color print, color copy, and color scan (no automatic document feeder – scan and copy is via the flatbed platen).

Canon also says the new All-in-Ones feature new Canon inks that it says provide deeper blacks and more vivid reds for improved image quality and more visual impact for printing documents on plain paper than with previous models.

Expanding on the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY application and PIXMA Cloud Link, new features include the ability to print images directly from any Instagram feed. Canon Easy-PhotoPrint+5 and Creative Park Web applications may also be accessed from compatible smartphones and tablets for sharing and editing individual photos. Documents can be printed from SlideShare and users can send scanned documents directly to OneNote.

The firm says it’s also improved setup, and users can install printer drivers approximately 30 percent faster than with the PIXMA MG7720 printer. All new seven models also have an improved wireless printing experience for compatible smartphone and tablet users through the updated Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY application, and users can print and scan images and documents to several popular online social services, such as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Photobucket, Dropbox, Evernote, Creative Park, Google Drive, and Microsoft OneDrive. The new models also support Google Cloud Print for printing from Gmail and Google Docs with a compatible mobile device, and from the Google Chrome browser for Apple Mac, Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Chrome OS operating systems.

The PIXMA MG7720 printer, which also includes the PIXMA Touch & Print feature that allows direct printing from compatible Android devices, along with the PIXMA MG6800 printer series, are suitable for students and for printing with Canon Creative Park projects. Rounding out the new lineup, the PIXMA MG5700 printer series is designed for printing homework assignments and other important documents at home, while still providing creative features and quality photos. Each printer features automatic power-off-and-on, automatic two-sided printing, and PictBridge, the last of which provides photo printing via wireless LAN connectivity for a direct connection to select Canon digital cameras.

All of the new models are bundled with Canon’s My Image Garden creative and sharing software. My Image Garden also features Full HD Movie Print9 software for printing frames of videos captured with select Canon EOS Digital SLRs, Canon PowerShot Digital Cameras, and Canon VIXIA Camcorders.

Mobile-printing support for the All-in-Ones includes AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, NFC (Near Field Communication), and Mopria (print from Android mobile devices).
