Canon Expands A4 Lineup with Two New Black-and-White MFPs

Canon imageRUNNER 1435iCanon U.S.A. today announced its new imageRUNNER 1400 Series of MFPs, which it bills as its most compact black-and-white imageRUNNER MFPs to date. Designed for workgroups with limited space, Canon says the new MFPs provide capabilities that make them ideal as a stand-alone MFP for small businesses, or as a complement to a fleet of printers within large organizations.

The imageRUNNER 1400 Series consists of two models, the imageRUNNER 1435iF and 1435i MFP, which are A4 MFPs that print and scan on up to 8.5″x14″ media. Canon says the MFPs incorporates enhanced design features from previous models, such as a larger, five-line user interface for better visibility, and a USB port located on the front of the device for printing from and scanning to memory drives. Print speed for both MFPs is rated at up to 37 ppm.

Both MFPs also feature an embedded uniFLOW client that connects to Canon’s uniFLOW software for user-ID or card-based user authentication, print security, follow-me printing, and output management and reporting. The Canon uniFLOW Mobile Printing or the Canon Mobile Print app provides printing from tablets and smartphones.

Both MFPs include Canon’s UFR II LT print driver, while the imageRUNNER 1435iF also includes standard PCL and Adobe PostScript printing, both of which are optional for the imageRUNNER 1435i. Both MFPs include Compact PDF for reducing network traffic, Searchable PDF, scan to USB, and LDAP corporate-address book lookup.

Of note is that MFPs feature a new Canon Defined & Quick Fixing (DQF) toner to help achieve better high-image quality and faster print speeds, while also reducing energy use for lower electric consumption. Canon says the larger toner bottle means less frequent toner replenishment and, combined with a separate high-yield imaging, helps improve uptime and deliver better total cost of ownership.

MDS Enabler and Fleet Consistency

Integrating with Canon’s solutions portfolio and Canon’s Enterprise Management Console, with its tools for device management, the new MFPs can be managed as a stand-alone solution where space maybe limited and desktop placement is required, or as part of a larger fleet of devices. This integration can help ensure device management consistency, and the ability to streamline workflows to help deliver broad support for Managed Document Services (MDS) and fleet operations.

Available now from authorized Canon Dealers, the imageRUNNER 1435iF MFP provides standard copy, send, fax, and Canon UFR II LT, PCL, and Adobe PostScript printing at an MSRP of $1,870. The imageRUNNER 1435i MFP provides copy, scan, send, and UFR II LT print and has an MSRP of $1,560
