Canon Partners with PrintFleet & Supplies Network to Enhance imageCLASS Printonomics Managed-Print Services

Canon MPSCanon U.S.A. reports that it’s enhanced its imageCLASS Printonomics, a managed-print services (MPS) program. Through the company’s new collaboration with partner PrintFleet’s PrintFleet LINK, a managed-print software and solutions program, and wholesale distributor Supplies Network, Canon says participating Canon imageCLASS resellers can now quickly subscribe to new services that it says can help streamline ordering processes, and reduce operating costs.

“The imageCLASS Printonomics program has a unique place in the market as Canon strives to help empower resellers to meet the needs of their customers and structure their MPS programs accordingly,” commented PrintFleet CEO Chris McFarlane

The new services offered through the Printonomics program can be accessed by using the PrintFleet LINK Web services tool. According to Canon, participating resellers can now have supplies, such as toner cartridges, automatically fulfilled and delivered, can access a Web portal called My Printer Manager in order to track those supplies, can purchase consumables on a cost-per-image (CPI) basis, and can access third-party break-fix service fulfillment-networks for the management of select non-Canon devices. Supplies Network is the wholesale distributor for this service.

“Canon and Supplies Network are working on together the Printonomics program to help reduce the challenges a reseller may experience in operating a MPS program,” says Sarah Custer, MPS and equipment solutions manager for Supplies Network.

According to Canon, these enhancements complement the services the Printonomics program already provides, including the gapTCO (total cost of ownership) proposal software tool from gap intelligence. This tool helps participating resellers deliver recommendations to their customers, including head-to-head product assessments, pricing options for hardware and consumables, and cost-savings benefits. Resellers can also import Printonomics fleet-assessment information into the gapTCO tool and provide savings-analysis of a proposed optimized printer fleet versus the customer’s current fleet of devices. Resellers who start their own MPS program through Printonomics will are also eligible to apply for a CompTIA Managed Print Trustmark at a discount.
