OKI Rolls On with Strong Financial Results for its Latest Fiscal Year

OKI Electric Indusr=tryMay 12, 2015 – Oki Electric Industry of Japan recently reported results for its fiscal year ended March 31, 2015, with net sales up 8.2 percent to 258.3 billion yen, and net income up 100.8 percent to 24.2 billion both, both versus the previous fiscal year ended March 31, 2014.

Oki reports that in fiscal year 2015 it enjoyed marked sales and operating-income increases in all of its business groups. For its Printers group, net sales for the year were 129.3 billion yen, versus 124.8 billion yen for the previous year, and operating income was 6.7 billion yen, versus 5.1 billion yen for the previous fiscal year.

While sales of color LED-based printers were flat versus the previous fiscal year, sales of monochrome LED-based printers were up, as “big orders” were acquired. Sales of dot-matrix printers were flat. Operating income for the printer group was up by 1.6 billion yen year-over-year, due, OKI says, to revamping its business structure, and an improved product mix. For its current fiscal year, Oki says it will seek to boost Printer group sales by providing new products and strengthening its sales-channel support.

Fiscal Year 2016

For its current fiscal year that will March 31, 2016, Oki is forecasting total sales of 545.5 billion yen  and net income of 22 billion yen.
