May 6, 2015 – According to Dutch news-site Emerce, Samsung Electronics has lost an appeal in a toner-cartridge patent infringement involving 123inkt.nl. The appeal was tried in The Hague Court of Appeal in Holland last week.
Samsung had demanded that 123inkt.nl stop selling its third-party brand toner cartridges for Samsung printers. According to Samsung, the positioning of a certain chip in the toner cartridges violated one of its patents.
In October 2014, the court ruled against Samsung, but Samsung appealed. Last week, the judge ruled against Samsung’s appeal, so that 123inkt.nl can continue selling the toner cartridges.
