December 22, 2014 – ABBYY Europe, a provider of document-recognition, data-capture and linguistic technologies and services, reports that in the future, it’ll be working with Fujitsu, Europe’s largest provider of corporate solutions and services within the IT solutions area. The cooperation will focus on the areas of data-capture and replacement-scanning, and will primarily cover solutions for automating incoming mail processes and automatic invoice processing.

According to ABBYY, successful implementation of a solution in the business-to-business (B2B) area always involves complex requirements and can rarely be dealt with by a single provider. This is why ABBYY is always looking for solution partners that can supplement its portfolio of document-capture solutions, so that customers are offered an overall solution from a single source. With the help of one of Europe’s top IT companies, Fujitsu, ABBYY says it’ll be able to provide complete solutions for incoming mail and invoice processing.

Markus Pichler, director of Business Unit Solutions at ABBYY Europe GmbH explains: “The technological partnership with Fujitsu will help us to offer our customers complete solutions for automating incoming invoice and/or mail processing in medium to large-sized companies. Thanks to Fujitsu’s extensive experience in the implementation of large IT projects, ABBYY will in the future be able to offer its customers a complete solution package at the highest level.”

Fujitsu offers corporate customers a portfolio of technology products, solutions, and services covering everything from end devices and data-center solutions, to managed services and cloud solutions, all the way through to outsourcing. ABBYY brings to the partnership its expertise and software solutions for the automation of document-based business processes in the digitisation, incoming-mail, and invoice-processing areas. Together, ABBYY says its and Fujitsu will be able to cover a broad range of requirements when it comes to IT solutions. This will enable ABBYY and Fujitsu customers to improve the efficiency of their document handling.

“We are happy to have found a powerful software manufacturer and solution partner in ABBYY for Replacement Scanning, Data Capture and Text Recognition. The ABBYY FlexiCapture platform impressed us with its high level of recognition precision and its flexibility. This will enable us to cover all incoming mail and invoice processing scenarios in future,” commented Thomas Groß, principal solution architect at Fujitsu.

ABBYY FlexiCapture is an enterprise-capture platform for comprehensive data-capture from a wide range of document types, which can then be forwarded to other internal business processes. The solution can be aligned individually with the specific requirements of the customer and integrated into existing specialist applications.

Based on this capture platform, ABBYY provides solutions for the automation of document-centred business processes, which can be used in a wide range of areas within the corporate sphere. ABBYY is therefore expanding Fujitsu’s portfolio with applications for automated invoice processing (ABBYY FlexiCapture for Invoices), for incoming mail classification (ABBYY FlexiCapture for Mailrooms), and also for incoming documents in downstream processes and specialist applications.
