Canon Expands Toner-Cartridge Patent-Infringement Campaign to Germany

December 15, 2014 – Canon Inc. of Tokyo reports that it’s filed a patent-infringement complaint in Germany with the District Court of Düsseldorf against Armor SA, Artech GmbH, Pelikan Vertriebsgesellschaft mbh & Co. KG and other Pelikan companies for infringement of the German portion of Canon’s European patent 2 087 407 through the offering and sale of certain toner cartridges for use in various Hewlett-Packard laser printers. The patent relates to, inter alia, a drum unit to be used in a process cartridge. Canon is seeking injunctive relief and damages.
