New Next-Generation Canon ‘Maxify’ Wireless Color Inkjets with Business-Oriented Feature Set; New Canon Inkjet Mobile Printer

maxifyCanon U.S.A. is launching a new brand name for its new color inkjet All-in-Ones and printers with wireless connectivity, “Maxify.” There are five new Maxify models, all designed for small- and home-office (SOHO) users, and with a more business-oriented feature set than Canon’s Pixma brand: the Maxify MB5320 Wireless Inkjet Small Office All-In-One (AIO), the Maxify MB5020 Wireless Inkjet Small Office AIO, Maxify MB2320 Wireless Inkjet Home Office AIO, Maxify MB2020 Wireless Inkjet Home Office AIO, and MaxifyiB4020 Wireless Inkjet Small Office. Canon says these Wi-Fi enabled models provide enhanced features, including high-quality, low cost per print, quick first print, printing from the cloud, and 100-percent U.S.-based service and support. Canon also introduced a new color inkjet mobile printer (see below).

The firm says all of the new Maxify models feature high ink and paper capacities, fast first print speeds of approximately seven seconds for black-and-white documents, high print quality, and image durability, as well as easy operation. Featuring a new print head and mechanical system, the printers use a new Dual Resistant High Density (DRHD) individual ink tank system designed for producing output with vivid colors and sharp, optical density, and new inks that are said to be friction- and marker-resistant. The optional XL-size ink tank can be used to print up to 2,500 pages in black and up to 1,500 color pages for the Maxify MB5320, Maxify MB5020, and Maxify iB4020. With the Maxify MB2320 and MAXIFY MB2020, users can print up to 1,200 pages in black and up to 900 color pages.

The new models also enable users to automatically schedule on and off times, and offer an overlapping paper-feed tray for when printing large print jobs.

Maxify Printing Solutions Application

With the new Maxify Printing Solutions application, users are provided direct access to the cloud through Maxify Cloud Link from compatible mobile devices and tablets. Maxify Cloud Link enables documents and photos to be accessed and printed at any time from a compatible mobile device or tablet by connecting to popular online social platforms and document- and image-sharing sites such as Microsoft One Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox, Evernote, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and Photobucket.

The free Maxify Printing Solutions app is available at the App Store and at Google Play. It’s compatible with Apple iPad, iPhone 3GS or later, and iPod touch third-generation or later devices running iOS 5.1 or later, as well as with Android mobile devices running Android 2.3.3 or later.

The Maxify family also supports Google Cloud Print, which allows users to send Gmail messages, file attachments and select Google Docs to the printer from any computer, tablet or smartphone.

Canon Maxify MB5320 Wireless Inkjet Small Office AIO .

The flagship Maxify MB5320 Wireless Inkjet Small Office AIO provides print, copy, fax, and scan, is fully networkable, and includes a 50-sheet duplexing auto document feeder for two-sided copying and scanning. There’s also a new capability – single-pass two-sided scan. With single-pass two-sided scan, two CIS sensors simultaneously scan the front and back of a document as it moves through the automatic document feeder, for faster scanning of two-sided documents.

The printer also features a 3-inch touch screen for tasks such as scanning to email addresses, downloading documents stored in Web-based document-storage sites (download from cloud), and storing scanned data and received faxes directly on a file server for internal information sharing.

Canon rates the Maxify MB5320 at 23 (black)/15 (color) ppm, and the system has a maximum monthly volume of 30,000 pages. Estimated selling price is $399.997. Other features include a 500-sheet paper capacity with two trays, each with a 250-sheet paper capacity; users can load one tray with standard paper and the other with specialty paper.

Maxify MB5020 Wireless Inkjet Small Office AIO

Using the same imaging technology as the Maxify MB5320, the Maxify MB5020 Wireless Inkjet Small Office AIO printer provides print, copy, fax, and scan along with a 250-sheet paper capacity, and a 30,000-page monthly duty cycle. Rated print speed is 23 (black)/15 (color) ppm, and estimated selling price is $299.997.

Designed for home-office users, the Maxify MB2320 has a lower maximum monthly volume – 15,000 pages – than the Maxify MB5320. It provides print, copy, fax and scan, is fully networkable, and provides 500-sheet paper capacity with two trays each containing 250 sheets, and 50-sheet ADF. With access to the cloud through the 3-inch LCD touch screen, users can upload scanned files or download documents to print from various cloud services such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Evernote, and more. The Maxify MB2320 is rated at 23 (black)/15 (color) ppm. Estimated selling price is $199.99.

Maxify MB2020 Wireless Inkjet Home Office AIO

The Maxify MB2020 Wireless Inkjet Home Office AIO provides print, copy, fax, and scan, has a 250-sheet paper capacity, and 15,000-page maximum monthly volume, and is also designed for home users.The 2.5-inch LCD screen panel provides easy access to all printer functions, including print, copy, scan-to-email, scan-to-cloud, and all related printer information. Rated print speed is 16 (black)/11 (color) ppm. Estimated selling price is 179.997.

MAXIFY iB4020 Wireless Inkjet Small Office Printer

The Maxify iB4020 Wireless Inkjet Small Office printer is a standalone printer that’s fully networkable, has a 500-sheet paper capacity with two trays each containing 250 sheets, and a maximum monthly volume of 30,000 pages. Rated print speed is 23 (black)/15 (color) ppm. Estimated selling price is $149.997.

Apple AirPrint Mobile-Printing Support

Canon U.S.A. also reports that the new Maxify models all support Apple AirPrint mobile printing for printing from photos, email messages, Web pages, and documents wirelessly from Apple iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch mobile devices, without downloading or installing any device drivers.

New Pixma IP110 Wireless Mobile Printer

Canon U.S.A. also introduced the Pixma iP110 Wireless Mobile Printer ($249.99 estimated selling price). It features 802.11b/g/n wireless connectivity, an optional battery, and the cloud-based Pixma Printing Solutions (PPS) app, a platform that provides access to the cloud directly from compatible smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices. With this platform, users can print and scan images and documents directly from online services such as Facebook, Twitter, Photobucket, Dropbox, Evernote, Microsoft OneDrive, and Google Drive

PPS, together with the optional battery, provides users who conduct business outside of the office or travel frequently with the ability to print from almost anywhere. With PPS, users can also check ink model number information, online printer user manuals, and other important printer information.

The printer builds on the features of its predecessor, the Canon PIXMA iP100 Mobile Printer, with a maximum 9,600 x 2,400 dp resolution.

Also featured is Wireless PictBridge, a technology that allows digital camcorders and cameras to connect to the printer, so that users can print from these devices without using a computer. With Access Point Mode, users can connect their compatible mobile device to the printer directly through Wi-Fi without a router. .

The Pixma iP110 Wireless Mobile Printer has a one-picoliter ink droplet size. It uses two black inks: a pigment-based black ink for sharp text, and a dye-based black ink that works to improve color contrast and image stabilization (Canon PGI-35 Pigment Black Ink Cartridge and CLI-36 CMYK Color Ink Cartridge). Print speed is rated at up 9 (black)/5.9 color ppm. The printer weighs 4.3 lbs. and measures 12.7″ (W) x 7.3″ (D) x 2.5″ (H).
