U.S. Air Force Selects HP for Printers under Five-Year Contract; HP Also Extends Global Hardware Contract with Shell

us air forceHewlett-Packard reported today that the United States Air Force has issued it a five-year Blanket Purchase Agreement for HP single-function printers, MFPs, and their consumables for its Digital Printing and Imaging initiative (DPI).

The Air Force’s DPI initiative is based on five key elements of its imaging and printing environment, including savings, security, standardization, simplification, and streamlining. HP says the new five-year agreement reconfirmed trust in HP’s ability to assess and manage imaging and printing devices and processes on a global scale.

“HP continues to advance printing and imaging technology to meet the most challenging demands for our customers around the world,” commented John Solomon, senior vice president of HP’s Printing and Personal Systems, and managing director for HP’s Americas group. “HP’s selection by the United States Air Force is a true testament to our ability to provide consistent, comprehensive and reliable solutions throughout the years.”

Previously, HP received a Blanket Purchase Agreement for DPI in 2008.

Products that will be distributed as part of the contract include MFPs such as the HP LaserJet Enterprise M4555fskmHP Color LaserJet Enterprise Flow M680zHP Color LaserJet Enterprise Flow M880zHP Color LaserJet Enterprise 775zHP Digital Sender Flow 8500 fn1.

The HP single-function printers selected by the Air Force include the HP LaserJet Enterprise P3015dn PrinterHP LaserJet Enterprise 600 Printer M 603dnHP LaserJet Enterprise 500 color Printer M551dnHP Color LaserJet Enterprise M651dn Printer.

HP also reported that Shell has extended Hewlett Packard Nederland B.V.’s hardware and services agreement to support Shell’s global business in more than 100 countries and for over 100,000 employees and contractors worldwide.

Under the renewed five-year agreement, HP will provide more than 150,000 products to Shell, including HP PCs, tablets, peripherals, printers, workstations, servers, storage, and networking hardware, as well as IT integration and support services. All equipment will be provided either directly or through HP’s worldwide network of local channel partners.
