Jeff Jacobson is New President of Xerox Technology
Xerox announced today that Jeff Jacobson will serve as the new president of the Xerox Technology Business, with current president Armando Zagalo de Lima retiring.
Jacobson joined Xerox in February of 2012 from Presstek, where he served as the company’s president and chief executive officer since 2007, adding the title of chairman in 2009. Presstek is a supplier of digital offset-printing solutions marketed to the printing and communications industries. Prior to his role at Presstek, Jeff was chief operating officer of Eastman Kodak Company’s $3.6 billion Graphic Communications Group. He also served for five years as CEO of Kodak Polychrome Graphics, a $1.7 billion joint venture between Sun Chemical and Eastman Kodak.
In his role as president of Xerox’s Global Graphic Communications Operations, which he assumed in 2012, Jacobson led strategy, operations and product development of the Xerox production-printing systems portfolio for the global graphic communications market. In 2013, as the chief operating officer of the Xerox Technology business, his responsibilities were expanded to include strengthening the technology product and solutions portfolio, managing the cost base and driving supply chain, manufacturing, and overall efficiencies.
Armando Zagalo de Lima joined Xerox in Portugal in 1983, and held sales, marketing and management positions across Europe, ultimately serving as president of Xerox Europe. He has been president of the Xerox Technology Business since 2012.
In his current role, Jacobson will lead Xerox’s technology business, which provides document-technology products and services to customers ranging from small businesses to multinational enterprises. He is responsible for worldwide strategy, sales-channel operations, marketing, technical services and customer support, and product development, manufacturing and distribution.
Xerox CEO Ursula Burns commented, “Armando has put the Technology Business on a solid foundation by transforming the organization to be more customer focused, profitable and well positioned to continuously adapt to the changes in the market. Armando brought Jeff, an industry veteran, into the company two years ago. Since joining Xerox, Jeff has demonstrated his knowledge, leadership and passion for the business and our customers. We now entrust him to execute on the strategy, one that is well planned and positions us for long-term market leadership and profitability. I’m confident the business is in extremely capable hands with Jeff.”
Jacobson is a graduate of the State University of New York Buffalo and holds a master’s degree in industrial relations from the Cornell School of Industrial Relations. He also holds a juris doctor degree from Pace University School of Law, and is admitted to the bar in New York and New Jersey.
