Former Toshiba Exec Mark Mathews is New President of Airwolf 3D Printing Company
Venture Beat reports that Mark Mathews, the former president and CEO of Toshiba America Business Solutions, has been named president of Airwolf 3D, a two-year-old, privately held designer, manufacturer, and distributor of 3D printers.
Mathews reports directly to Airwolf 3D’s company’s founder and chairman, Erick Wolf, and will be responsible for the business side of the company, including sales and marketing, finance, and operations, as well as raising investment capital for Airwolf 3D.
At Toshiba America Business Solutions, Mathews oversaw the strategic direction and operations of Toshiba’s office-equipment and document-solutions business. Venture Beat says that Mathews, a 20-year veteran, he is credited with leading Toshiba through “a period of extraordinary growth in which it consistently won industry accolades.”
Mathews told Venture Beat: “Working with an early stage high-tech company is a unique opportunity. The 3D printing industry is like the Wild West: It’s chaotic, it’s raw and it’s fun. Best of all, I have the opportunity to use my 20 years of high-tech, business-to-business expertise to develop and execute a plan for rapid growth in what’s expected to be a $12 billion industry by 2025. I’m working with owners who are pushing the boundaries of innovation and, more importantly, share the same values and vision I have. Given all that, Airwolf 3D is the perfect fit for me.”
