These new desktop models also are equipped with Kyocera’s patented long-life drum technology. The eco-friendly drum design, which separates the toner container from the drum, allows users to replace toner without sacrificing the drum, thus reducing consumable costs and landfill waste. Ecosys printers also conserve energy by switching to standby mode when not in use, and are Energy Star-certified

The new MFPs feature paper capacities up to 2,600 sheets, and monthly duty cycles of up to 275,000 pages, 250,000 pages, and 150,000 pages respectively. Other specifications include:

  • Standard print, copy, and color scan.
  • Standard fax on the M3560idn, M3550idn, and M3540idn.
  • 75-sheet document feeder.
  • Customizable 7-inch tablet-like display.

The new MFPs also incorporate Kyocera’s HyPAS software platform for adding optional business applications.

Developed by Kyocera or third-party solution providers, HyPAS business applications include options for mobile and cloud computing, cost-control capabilities, and security solutions. Some of the most popular applications include Kyocera Cloud Connect, which allows users to print from and scan to cloud-based document storing and sharing sites directly from the MFP’s control panel. HomePOINT enables users to print from and scan to network folders directly from the MFP’s control panel, while DMS Link is a customizable interface that streamlines workflow by linking a Kyocera MFP to an existing document-management system.
