Last week we reported that Memjet added both Toshiba TEC and Canon’s Oce as new OEM partners – this week it’s adding Fuji Xerox of Japan, which will develop a wide-format full color-ink jet printer using Memjet components.
Under the partnership, Fuji Xerox is integrating Memjet technology and components into a roll-fed, wide-format printer that’ll be able to print on up to 42″ wide media at up to 1,600 dpi, and is designed for technical and graphic-arts partnerships. Fuji Xerox is targeting a formal product launch in Asia Pacific at a future date to be determined.
The Memjet Wide Format inkjet printing system employs Memjet Waterfall Printhead Technology, delivering more than 3 billion drops of ink per second at print speeds of 300mm per second at 1,600 x 800 dpi resolution, or 150mm per second at 1600 x 1600 dpi resolution.
Memjet is also working with Oce on large-format color printers using Memjet ink-jet printing. Oce is currently previewing”Project Velocity,” a 42″ wide color printer that can produce 100 A0-size posters in just 12 minutes, at the drupa tradeshow in Germany. More information on Project Velocity is available here. Another new partner is Toshiba TEC, which is developing an office MFP based on Memjet’s 60-ppm color ink-jet printing technology.
