Konica Minolta of Japan is setting up regional offices and sales subsidiaries in key countries in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, where it sees high-growth markets for its office-imaging equipment.
The company will be setting up regional head offices in Singapore and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), sales subsidiaries in Vietnam and Turkey, and an office in Thailand. It says these initiatives are part of a major sales expansion to provide enhanced marketing and improved customer support in high-growth markets such as Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
Konica Minolta has been distributing its office equipment in the Asian region through its local sales subsidiaries and distributors in each country. However, because of rapid market growth in this region, it says it’s essential to strengthen sales activities through delivery of direct marketing, customer support and employee education, and reinforce its sales and support structure.
Functions of the New Companies
“Konica Minolta Business Solutions Asia PTE Ltd. (BSA)” in Southeast Asia and “Konica Minolta Business Solutions Middle East FZE” in the Middle East have been established as regional head offices. Their role is to supervise and manage a wide range of functions including sales, logistics, marketing and services.
The company also states that in order to handle what it sees as increasing demand for its Optimized Print Services MPS program in the future, it’ll be increasing assistance to its sales subsidiaries and distributors. The new office in Thailand will work as the local base office of Konica Minolta Business Solutions Asia (BSA), and will be responsible for conducting market research and business coordination with BSA and local distributors.
In Vietnam and Turkey, it says it’ll be providing value-added services through its new sales subsidiaries by intensifying the existing distributors’ sales network and developing marketing activities for local needs and requirements.
