Lexmark Unveils New Color A4 MFPs, Printers, Starting At $699
Lexmark International is launching its next-generation color imaging devices, the C730 Series desktop color printers and X730 Series color MFPs. The new color imaging systems are based on the same A4 color laser print-engine platform, and are geared for mid-size to large workgroups. Lexmark also added a new compact B/W MFP for small workgroups (see X204n below)
Lexmark X730 Series MFPs Include Embedded Solutions Framework
The X730 Series of color MFPs are based on the C730 printer’s family’s print-engine platform, with a maximum rated print speed of 35 ppm in both B/W and color, and combine color network print, copy, and scan. The new color MFPs, which begin at $1,799, feature Lexmark’s Embedded Solutions Framework for creating custom workflows. For instance, the touch screen can be configured so that, with the touch of a key, documents are automatically scanned using pre-set settings and then automatically routed to their appropriate destination, such as a network file folder.
One of the members of Lexmark’s new X730 MFP Series is the top-of-the-line X738DTE. The X738DTE features a rated print speed of up to 35 ppm (B/W and color), 900 MHz CPU, and 80-GB hard drive. A 10/100BASE-TX Ethernet network interface is standard (Gigabit Ethernet and wireless network interfaces are optional). All models are compatible with Microsoft Windows, Apple Macintosh and Linux. Standard paper capacity is 1,200 sheets expandable to a maximum of 3,200 sheets. Maximum monthly volume is 85,000 pages for the X738DTE.
All configurations feature security provisions such as IPSec, SNMPv3 and 802.1x network security, secure data encryption, hard-drive erasing, user authentication (including LDAP support) and an optional integrated card reader. Paper handling includes automatic duplexing (optional for some models), and an optional Specialty Media Drawer option, which is ideal for large stacks of envelopes, and a 2,000-sheet high-capacity feeder. Maximum paper capacity is 3,200 sheets.
Convenience features include printing from USB memory devices, a PictBridge Certified Port for printing from PictBridge-compatible digital cameras, and Lexmark’s large color e-Task touch screen. A MyMFP feature enables users to customize the touch screen, so that they can quickly access preferred settings.
